Opening Sequence: Standard.

Dance pattern:
The monarca and malinche circle in an S-shape with each of the danzantes
in turn, moving back and forth from the first man in the left line
to the first man in the right line, then to the second man in the
left line, then the second man in the right, on down the lines (Figure
6). When they reach the end of the lines, the abuelo calls for
turns, first outward then inward. The monarca and malinche then reverse
the dance pattern, circling with each man, starting with the last
man in the right line, ending with the first man in the left line. |
